Notre Dame Stadium Mural

University Park Mall

University Park Mall visitors and shoppers may do a double-take when they arrive at the north end of the shopping center, where a local artist has transformed a 26-foot by 52-foot sheet rock wall into a replica of Notre Dame Stadium.

Chris Stackowicz, a Notre Dame alumnus and owner of C Stack Productions, a large-scale art installation firm, created the piece using a number of renderings of Notre Dame Stadium. The piece was created in “selfie perspective,” meaning that regardless of where a shopper takes a selfie in the mural, it will look as if they are entering Notre Dame Stadium.

The entire project took 45 days and 50 gallons of Sherwin-Williams paint to complete, and is Stackowicz’s 100th, large-scale installation in the area.

“University Park Mall is a gathering place for the South Bend-Mishawaka community, so I wanted to create something that would resonate with local shoppers, and also be symbolic of the area for out-of-town visitors,” said Stackowicz.
