CARE for the Cape & Islands Partners with Target

Cape Cod Mall

CARE for Cape and the Islands is the first non-profit on Cape Cod and the Islands in 2021 to be chosen to participate in the new Target Circle Community Giving Program whereby guests can save and give back to their community by voting for eligible non-profits to receive a portion of Target’s charitable giving.

Through Target Circle, Target’s new loyalty program, guests earn votes through their purchases in-store and online. Guests then have the chance to help direct a portion of Target’s overall donation to CARE for the Cape & the Islands until March 31, 2021. Find out more about the Target Circle program here www.target.com/circle.

Director of CARE for the Cape and Islands Jill Talladay said, “We’re asking our supporters to help us make the most of this incredible opportunity. Every vote counts to help us receive a portion of the available Target funds as we continue our mission to protect Cape Cod and the Islands.”

ABOUT CARE FOR THE CAPE & THE ISLANDS

CARE for the Cape & Island mission is to inspire stewardship to preserve and protect the natural environment, cultural and historical treasures of Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. Founded in 2012, it is the Cape and Islands’ first travelers’ philanthropy initiative. CARE seeks to encourage, support, and create opportunities for visitors and residents to donate their “time, talent, and treasure” to help preserve and protect our region’s exquisite natural beauty, plant and wildlife habitats, Cape & Islands culture, and history.

Since 2012, CARE has

    • Activated 4,200+ volunteer hours (delivering $100k of value to the community) to clean up and improve community infrastructure;
    • Funded 50+ projects, including water filling stations, cigarette butt collectors, historical trail development and other amenities that benefit all of us;
    • Convened more than 70 organizations in the Cape Cod Stewardship Collaborative to coordinate public and private efforts to address challenges of solid waste and plastic pollution that impacts our land and marine environments.
