The American Express / Simon Giftcard:
- No monthly maintenance fees after purchase
- No fee to replace a lost/stolen card1
- Funds do not expire (plastic does)
- No fee to replace an expired card
- Good where American Express Cards are accepted in the US

The Simon Visa Giftcard:
- $2.95 monthly maintenance fee beginning in the 13th month after card is purchased2
- $5 fee to replace a lost/stolen card
- Card expires in 2 years
- $15 fee to replace an expired card
- Good anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted in the world
