Black & White has been huge on the runway at NY Fashion Week. This is a departure from the bright colors they have been showing in past seasons. Everyone from Moschino to Armani show these classic colors in stripes and layers. The great news is the black and white classic combo is accessible and available to try out at JCrew, The Limited, H&M, and soon at the Madewell store opening. I recently bought a drawstring t-shirt dress in black and white stripes from H&M that is perfect for spring weather. All I need now is a floppy straw hat and strappy sandals to go with my dress. Time for another shopping trip!
I see pastels in almost every store and I am most excited to try out mint. Instead of bold colors, pastels are a more subtle way to express style. I found a great mint Vince Camuto sweater at Nordstrom, some great pastel skinny jeans at Forever 21, and mint nail polish at Sephora to match. I am even going to sport pink pastel lips courtesy of MAC. My new finds will be perfect for Easter festivities with family and friends.
Lastly, I can’t wait to try out floral pants. The pattern is the perfect print to get me in the mood for spring. I have my eye on multicolored chic pants from Ann Taylor, which will go perfect with my new mint sweater. Fortunately, floral pants are demure enough to try at the office with a button down white shirt from JCrew, or perfect for Sunday brunch at True Foods paired with a chambray top from Old Navy. The perfect accessory to go with my new pants is a flower embellished statement necklace from Zara.
I am really excited to express my creativity by mixing and matching these three new trends. Spring is right around the corner, so I better hop to it.
