The sun is shining, school is out, and soon people will begin hitting the streets of downtown El Paso for it's third annual Neon Desert Music Festival on May 25th.  Neon Desert Music Festival incorporates the unique Hispanic culture of the border city with a modern and edgy twist, bringing bands from near and far to play in the heart of the city. The festival is all ages, making it a great friend or family outing. Some of the great musicians that will be playing at this year's Neon Desert will include Best Coast, Molotov, Wolfgang Gartner, Martin Solveig,  Stereo Thieves, and  The Black Coats. Apart from these great musicians various local artist will be displaying their artwork through out the venue for people to enjoy and help give historic downtown a funky vibe.

Being that it is an all day event that takes place outside it is essential that people dress to impress, but also take comfort into consideration. The great thing about music festivals is that you can bring out all your bright pieces, sunhats, and favorite summer accessories. High - low dresses are perfect for this occasion, giving you a fashionable yet effortless look. It may not be the 80's but neon sure is taking us on a blast to the past. This upcoming spring season we will begin to see neon make it's way into our wardrobe. There is such a wide variety such as simple neon scarf worn with black skinny pants, a black and white striped button down, denim vest, and combat boots. Of course add some pink lipstick in there to make the outfit pop. Another option would be a neon loose sheer blouse. Dress it up, dress it down, it's perfect for any occasion.

Chevron print is one of my personal favorites. When worn on a dress it can give the classic feminine look, with a twist. I recommend pairing a chevron dress with a large bubble statement necklace, a side purse/ satchel, a large chunky watch, and a pair of tan pumps to bring the outfit all together.

Do you have a busy day and no time to change into a night time outfit? The answer to that little problem is simple, a high - low dress. Whether you have a busy day running around the office, or about to go on a hot date high low dresses are perfect. I recommend pairing them with a cardigan for the office, that can later be removed in the evening. You can't go wrong with gold jewelry to add accents, a pair of heels similar to Jeffery Campbell Litas, and a nice red lipstick to spice things up a little.

This Spring, the skin is IN and the fear is OUT! Designers have obviously made it their mission to ensure that fashion followers around the world have the licence to get wild with their style! Sheer panel pieces, bold stripes and short suits definitely have to be the top trends for Spring 2013.

Legs, Breasts and Back....My mother always told me you cant wear all out at the same time. So when pulling off a sheer panel piece, whether pants, a skirt or "backless" blouse, it is highly important that you take heed to my Mother's favorite mantra! Depending on how you rock it, a sheer paneled peplum shirt can be sophisticated, sexy, yet adventurous. If you are a newbie and not wanting to show too much skin, a perfect starter item would be a long sleeve blouse with the sheer paneling located on the shoulder area of the garment! Paired with a pair of light blue jean cutoffs, those combat styled boots (that you just cant stop wearing) and a necklace of long pearls (for good lady like measure) and you are ready to grab your brown felt fedora off the table and head out the door! With sheer pieces its important to keep accessories simple and ladylike....We are not channeling Madonna ladies! However, throw on a few of your girly-er pieces and you are sure to be singing the right tune!

Bold stripes are the best because they are so versatile and can be accommodating to even the most meager budget! It all depends on the look you are going for as well! Pair your stipes with denim and you are the All-American girl, pair them with navy bermudas and you have a sexy and sophisticated nautical look. Whether you wear them horizontally, vertically or zigzagging, stripes make you look preppy, wealthy and cool.

Speaking of super cool, short suits are a must-have this season! To describe this trend properly, I would have to say it is the clothing version of the mullet! Preppy and party all rolled into one! This trend is purposeful and versatile as well! It is office appropriate and gives the wearer an edgy look! Hey, I would even pair two trends together and rock a bold striped short suit! How would I pull this off you say?! The key is simplicity! A sleek ponytail or high messy bun is a must! Loose fitting and flowy fabrics are a perfect choice to rock under that blazer! You want to give this look some dimension while still keeping cool with the Spring heat! Or you can go for a more youthful look and pair it with a white fitted tank! This makes the transition from day to night super simple! Jacket off during the day and on at night! Add some smoked out black eyeshadow and black metallic liner and you are ready to "handle your business" on the dance floor!

From gorgeous dresses to skirts and beautifully tailored shirts adorned with beads, it's a must have for any closet. What a change from the usual drab garments from fall.
