We at Precision Time hope you had a fantastic Christmas yesterday and are hopefully enjoying a well deserved Christmas break.
We are excited to reveal our final Watch Tip from our Watch Tip Wednesday Series: A watch can be a major purchase. So it's important to protect that investment. No matter how tempting, there are a few things you should avoid doing with your watch. For the next few weeks, we'll be focusing on 5 specific things you should avoid in order to extend the life of your timepiece.
Watch Care Tip #5 - Avoid going for long periods of time without having the metal bands and bracelets of your watches cleaned. To extend the life and maintain the good appearance of a metal watch bracelet, the following are recommended:
• Be aware that since the watch and bracelet is worn next to the skin, it collects dust and perspiration and becomes soiled if not cleaned regularly. This is particularly true of the inner parts of the links or mesh of the bracelet.
• Soil and rust, when present in a bracelet, are dissolved by perspiration and can cause staining of cuffs and irritation of the skin in some instances.
• Heavy perspiration should be wiped off the watch and bracelet with a soft dry cloth. The bracelet should be cleaned occasionally by using a soft brush and warm soapy water after which the soap is thoroughly rinsed with clear water and the bracelet dried completely. The foregoing manner of cleaning should not be done if the watch is not water-resistant but should instead be done by your jeweler.

Nail polish was a big focus on the runway during fashion week this season, even more so than previous seasons. No longer were designers keeping their models’ manicures subtle and neutral so as not to take any focus away from their designs, but bright, bold, patterned, and even bejeweled nails were a major focus up from most every designer.
Nail art is trending this spring 2013 and is here to stay. However if you’re like me, past attempts at painting even the seemingly simplest of nail art patterns, such as horizontal stripes, have not turned out as expected (hello impatience). That’s why I am a big fan of the metallic stripe nail polish trend, it’s the easiest nail art trend that I’ve tried and it will be one of the easiest ways to be on trend this spring 2013 season.
How to Try the Metallic Racing Stripe Nail Polish Trend

Paint a base coat. I like Seche Vite brand, available at CVS.

Pick your main color, I chose “Monsooner or Later” by OPI in the pictures above, but this trend works with any color.

Freehand a metallic vertical stripe down the center of your nail. I am wearing “Designer… De Better!” by OPI for the stripe.

Top it off with a clear top coat, I am a big fan of Seche Vite “Dry Fast Top Coat” because it dries fast and still has that fresh wet look even when dry.
Tip: Update the look or make it seasonal by swapping out the colors. Try a nude, clear, or pastel as the main color or a thin black, white, or glitter line for the stripe.

Spring color is synonymous with pastels. At least that’s the case when it comes to the latest in spring 2013 lipstick color trends. A palette of matte pastel lipstick colors is the latest in popular trends for spring 2013 beauty.
Although the trend includes a wide range of soft pastel hues, from lavender purple to mint green to buttercup yellow, I’m focusing on working the matte pastel pink into my beauty rotation for the coming spring. As a “real girl” interested in fashion, I am always looking to latest trends for inspiration but at the same time keeping an eye out for what aspect of that trend will work for me and my lifestyle.
In other words, I think a mint green lip looks great on the runway, but I’m not about to show up at work at my desk job sporting the look… that might be awkward. But if you are on board with the trend and work in an environment that allows you to be a bit experimental, go for it girl.

My go-to brand for trendy lipstick shades is MAC, but lots of brands have pastel lip colors, just be sure to look for one that is matte, not shiny. As expected, MAC did not disappoint with their selection of pastel matte lipsticks. My favorite is “Candy Yum Yum” it’s the perfect shade of pastel pink, the perfect matte, and perfect for everyday wear, plus it shows off a healthy rosy cheek!

Black and white as a color scheme is very on trend this spring 2013 whether it be in bold graphic prints, stripes, polka dots, checker print, or floral. Keeping in the black and white color scheme is a smart way to try trends that may be a little bit outside of the typical comfort zone as we tend to feel more comfortable in this tried and true color combination. Below are a few of my favorite black and white pieces for this spring.

Although TOMS shoes are a trend statement within themselves, they offer their signature style flat in fun and of the moment prints too and, they have expanded their shoe styles to include wedges and booties that are très très cute! A friend recently asked me if the leather sleeves trend is still in style. My instinct was "yes" but to reassure myself I turned to the street style of spring 2013's fashion week. What I discovered came as no surprise to me, leather sleeves are in fact still very popular and stylish. This trend is often referred to as "mixed media" as well because of the combination of different materials, fabrics, and textures.

I won't say there was no way anyone could see this coming. Introduce spring 2010's romper trend that's still going strong to spring 2011's chambray fad that's still going strong, and what are we left with? Denim overalls. If you're a believer that everything that goes out of style will someday be back in-- you're in luck with this one, it's time to dig up those overalls you've been saving from the 90's (remember when I said the 90's are back?)! But if you're like me there's no way you will fit into your trusty overalls from 3rd grade; don't worry, you can get in on the trend too.

I am constantly thinking of ways I can work my favorite trends into outfits that will be stylish at work while maintaining a certain level of sophistication, polish, and appropriateness at the same time.
Accessories are a fun and easy way to work trends into an office-appropriate outfit and they pack a lot of style punch. One accessory trend that I am loving, and I believe is here to stay, is the structured bag. Every professional or aspiring-professional girl needs to add a structured bag to her must-have and must-find list immediately, like yesterday. Keep size in mind and know that for the working girl, there will need to be plenty of room for a laptop, portfolio, planner, and any daily essentials.

Nothing can put a damper on your day like having to walk around with a fresh new stain on your clothes especially if it's on your favorite piece of clothing, or something brand spanking new! Spills look sloppy and by association, you will look sloppy too. Be sure you're one step ahead with the Tide To Go stick.

I will admit that I might not have one on my person at all times (although I should), but I do make it a point to stock up and strategically store them in places that might prove useful.
