Some routes are so much more than just another tick on a climber's resume. For team athletes Katie Lambert and Mason Earle, Moonlight Buttress was such a climb.
This way to #rocktober everybody. Team climbers Katie Lambert and @benjaminbditto will meet you there.
Enjoy a visual break from reality this transportive video of Eddie Bauer climber Katie Lambert and guide Caroline George, from lensman and editor extraordinare Cheyne Lempe. If this video doesn't make you want to drop everything and head to the classic, sandbagged sport routes of this historic climbing location we don't know what will. Sit back, crank up the volume in your headphones and enjoy.

Eddie Bauer wasn’t a fashion designer, he was an outdoorsman. He knew exactly what he needed, and if the suppliers didn’t have it, he made it himself.
That’s not to say they didn’t have style. In 1944, he earned a patent for what he described as “The Aristocrat of All Down Jackets.” Its name was the Yukon. Like most of his early styles, it remained virtually unchanged for decades.
Our EB Originals Yukon Classic maintains this timeless look, with modern touches: http://bit.ly/2dNH5Vg
Because Eddie’s wife—and wilderness companion—Stine was an avid skier, he invented the Swiss Model Jacket to ensure she had the best gear available.

Breaking: On Day 10 of their Rapid Ascent of Cho Oyu, Team Alpinist Adrian Ballinger summited the 6th highest mountain on the planed. In his words:
"Leave C2, climb to summit on the most perfect day I've ever seen on an 8000-meter peak (zero wind, warm, gloveless for 45min on top, only 12 climbers on entire route), get the perfect couple photo thanks to Pasang Rinji (our third teammate for the summit push), put our skis on on the summit, ski a line far from the fixed lines, don't take our skis off until the end of the snow, and make it back to ABC in 18 hours of constant effort (read: suffering). We're going to make our 2-week Tahoe to Tahoe timeline. And we even get a day to celebrate with friends in ABC tomorrow!"
We've received word that Team Alpinist Adrian Ballinger and his team are making their summit on Cho Oyu. At 8,188 meters, Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world. Now is the time to follow the EverestNoFilter account on Snapchat for updates and to send your words of encouragement.

In 1953, an American team was attempting the first ascent of K2, the world’s second highest peak. Eddie designed a down mountaineering parka for them, the Kara Koram. Expedition Leader Charles Houston called the parka “The finest piece of high altitude equipment we have ever seen.”
Their legacy, and the Kara Koram parka, made Eddie Bauer America’s premiere expedition outfitter during the Golden Age of Himalayan Mountaineering.

As we approach our 100-year anniversary, we're updating a number of Eddie's iconic designs that are more relevant today than ever.

17,500 feet on the way to Cho Oyu Base Camp. It's only 60 hours since we left home in Tahoe and we're about to arrive in BC and start climbing! Smooth. And really happy for my microtherm keeping me warm through a shock to the system from rapid change of altitude and temperature!

A rising destination in the Southern Hemisphere is the La Mojarra climbing area in Colombia. Eddie Bauer climbers Mason Earle and Katie Lambert journeyed to the area, staying at the climber epicenter of Refugio La Roca and tested their spring skills by sampling the hardest routes in La Mojarra’s 5.8 to 5.14a range. Eddie Bauer revolutionized the outerwear industry with his down parkas, but perhaps his most forward-thinking design of all was the Down Undershirt he introduced in 1957. It was an entirely new concept—the insulated inner layer. Streamlined, low-profile, ultralight and ultrawarm. It was an instant hit with mountaineers, inspiring the ultralight layering systems of today.

When hundreds of US Army Air Forces troops were sent to Alaska to fight early in World War II, many of the airmen turned to Eddie Bauer, eager to get the down suit he had made for Alaskan bush pilots. By the end of 1942 the Army Air Forces asked Eddie to design a down flight suit able to keep airmen warm for up to 3 hours at -70 degrees. The result was the B-9 Parka and A-8 Flight Pants, the U.S. military’s first down-insulated flight suit.
