Record Store Day update- With the just lifted ban on business in Brighton, we will be opening our warehouse shortly and tagging up the few things left for RSD, and shipping out to nearly all our stores either tonight or very early AM Saurday. As such, I anticipate most stores should have most of what they were intended to have by Saturday opening. I will update here for any stores subject to internal shipping delay. Hi Everyone, Our main office/warehouse was never opened today, as it is located in Brighton, MA, just across the river from the security incidents in Watertown and Cambridge. At the request of authorities, and in the interests of safety for our staff, our warehouse has remained closed, along with our Newbury Street, Harvard Square, Fanueil Hall and Newton stores. As such, many of our stores may be somewhat impacted for Record Store Day on Saturday. Much RSD material still remains in our warehouse. Right now, we plan to ship most of our store's remaining record store day items either later tonight or early Saturday morning, circumstances allowing. We will update this page as we learn more. Record Store Day Update #2 - About 10 of us made it into the warehouse a little over an hour ago, just before the shooting started again. Everything is packed up and good to go. Vans will go out tonight and tomorrow early. We may have missed an item or two or a box or two for a store, but 98% sure all stores will have nearly all items at least delivered in boxes by time they are set to open in the morning. Thanks to our drivers and warehouse folks for all the last minute efforts. And FYI to all affected Newbury Comics Staff - These are bizarre events you and I can't control! SO -We will do our best to make up wages for all normally scheduled lost hours at the warehouse and affected closed stores! The company can afford it, and you guys are worth it! cheers -mike dreese
